New puppy…. January 21, 2011

We recently bought a new puppy.  His name is Toby.  He is a chocolate Rat Terrier.  Anyone that know us very well will tell you that we have really bad luck with animals.  We have a very high rate of cat deaths.  Not sure why.  We try really hard to love, feed, and treat them good.  But, something always happens.  You name it, it has happened.  Some, I bet you wouldn’t even guess.  My cousin asked me if this was our next “doomed” dog.  Well, I’m praying that this one will live a long happy life.  His house training is going well.  And, as you can see, he knows where the best place in the house is.

I joked on Facebook that I didn’t believe the weather man.  They were saying 4-5 inches of snow.  Yeah right!  Well, we got at least 4″!  The roads are a mess.  Schools are closed.  Even the court house is shut down.  I am loving my wood heater!  If we didn’t have it when this mess hit, we would have froze!  Well, I’m going to go collect “white” snow for ice cream….

You know that you are getting old when your New Years Eve consists of, being home, grilling steaks, all 3 kids are there plus one.  And, you have an evening of Dallas season 1 & 2 planned.  That’s right, Dallas.  If my Nanny had found out about the Dallas reruns, the party would have really got wild!  If I remember right, and I don’t recall a lot about my childhood, Nanny loved J.R.  I’m more of a Bobby fan.  Well, I hope you all had a great New Years Eve!  Here is a photo of my little neice.  She fell asleep before Dallas started.

Trip to the eye doctor….. December 27, 2010

Ever since I was in kindergarten, I have worn glasses.  My first pair was these HUGE pink things.  Throughout the years, they have been all different types.  Some that looked like John Lennon frames.  A pair or two that I hated.  Maybe more.  I was so happy when I was old enough to have contacts.  They were the best thing since homemade bread!  And, homemade bread is wonderful!  I had violet contacts one time.  Loved them!  Fast toward 25 years, and my kids are old enough for trips to the doctor.  So, today its Jack, Parker and me.  Parker has been here before.  He’s cool about the whole thing.  Jack on the other hand, not so much.  When he thinks about a doctor, he thinks about being sick and shots.  So, just imagine what he thinks is going to happen at the eye doctor!  I finally made him happy by telling him that the doctor could give him a black eye if he wanted one.  He really asked if the doctor could give home one.  I said sure.  But, he then asked if he would have to pop out his eyeball and put in a new one.  Not sure how this is going to go…..

Sadie is getting to open all of her Christmas gifts this morning.  She really loved the wrapping paper.  Turbo the pug tried to take her teething toy away.  I think I might need to go buy him one!  Daddy really loved the pink Tutu pants I bought her.  If he doesn’t watch it, I will have her in nothing but pink!

My baby has been sick.  She has had a virus for 5 days!  We really thought she was going to have to be in the hospital.  But, her blood work was OK.  Praise the Lord!  She’s well now.  This was her at the doctor’s office.  When the took her blood for lab work, she didn’t even flinch!  I’m so happy that she’s over it now.

Picking Pumpkins… October 25, 2010

Jacks class went to a Pumpkin Patch in Idabel last week.  It’s at a local church every year.  They take the kids inside and let them watch a little film on pumpkins.  Then, they get to go outside, and pick out a pumpkin.  Most of them buy the little $2 pumpkins.  I think Jack enjoyed this trip!

Is that a small smile?!  I think he excited about picking out a pumpkin!  He went for the big one.  But, I told him no.  He picked a good one, I think.

He did really well, until his arms got tired.

Such a BIG pumpkin for such a little guy!  We then went to Wal-Mart and bought a $4 pumpkin to carve.  I didn’t make him carry it.  I think Izzy had a good time too.

Field Trip #2….. October 18, 2010

In the next couple of days, I will be posting a lot of field trip pictures.  Last Thursday Jack went to the Valliant Fire Department with his class.  How do you get 40-50 Pre-K kids from the Valliant Elementary to the VFD?  You put them in a line, and make them hold on to a rope…..

I’m thinking about getting a rope like this for our trips to Wal-Mart.  What was surprising, was that all the kids actually stayed on the rope.  They didn’t lose one kid!  Which, I’m sure they have done this before.  Jacks buddy Jake had fun.  He went through the truck like 3 times!  I’m not sure the buttons worked the same after he left.

They asked the kids to line up beside the truck to get a group picture.  Some of the kids seem pleased.

This is Hayzn’, Jacks cousin.  He likes to take picture more than Jack does.  I promise.

See.  He breaks out the smile just in time!  Jack, not so much.

How pleasant.  But, wait.  They got out the water hose!  They got to shoot cars passing by(we live in a small town, its boring here).  It took me begging and bribing him to get him to do it!  Don’t Judge me.  You will be amazed at what you will do to get your kids to get involved!

Well, tomorrow is the trip to the Pumpkin Patch.  Should be fun!

*Please excuse the out of focus pictures.  I hate my camera!  It will be replaced!  Someday.
